JANE MALYON: ADOPTING AN ATTITUDE

Born in the mid-fifties, Jane Malyon was adopted into a great family in Chigwell, Essex. Over the last 25 years, she has traced and met up with various members of her birth family for the first time – and out of the 52 family members she has met, 51 of them liked her. Just don’t ask about Uncle Harold! ‘Adopting an Attitude’ is a very amusing, positive talk about her experiences. Tickets £3.

BEN COWELL: SAVING COUNTRY HOUSES

Ben Cowell, Director General of Historic Houses, will speak about the work involved in looking after country houses that remain in private ownership as lived-in family homes. Historic Houses represents 1,500 of these buildings across the UK, which range from the real-life Downton Abbey (Highclere Castle) to busy tourist attractions such as Knebworth House in Hertfordshire, to lesser-known properties which nonetheless may have remained as family homes for centuries. Ben’s talk will also consider the ways that the Covid19 pandemic has affected this important part of our national heritage. Tickets £3.

ERIK HOULIHAN-JONG: DIVINE CHOCOLATE WORKSHOP & TASTING

Treat yourself to a sensory chocolate tasting and truffle making demonstration led by one of Divine’s expert Chocolateers, Erik Houlihan-Jong! Erik will introduce Divine’s Bean to Bar story, before leading an immersive chocolate tasting revealing how to taste chocolate more mindfully, using all five senses and resulting in an uplifting moment of cocoa-filled calm. Erik will also demonstrate a delicious chocolate truffle recipe that uses clotted cream and some of Divine's best flavours. Tickets £10 including a tasting kit delivered to your door (postage included). Tasting kit consists of three 90g chocolate bars and ten 4.2g mini-tasting bars. Please book by 19th of March so we can be sure the chocolates are delivered to you in good time.
